How Calbrite Works
Mold consists of long, highly branched thread -like linear groups of cells that intertwine to form the fungus body. These threads can penetrate many materials, but especially common building materials such as drywall, wallboard, carpeting, and insulation. Mold usually requires a water source, habitable temperatures, and ample nutrients to grow. Humidity levels greater than 50% are considered a water source. A temperature range of 40 to 100 degrees is considered prime for mold growth. This basically means that living and working environments in the Northeast are potential breeding grounds for mold.
Cal-Brite is a sanitizer and works by adhering itself to the mold and breaking down the molecular bonds that hold it together. It is environmentally safe, bio-degradable, and USDA approved. Calbrite has a hydrogen peroxide base, it leaves no odor, and will not bleach clothes or materials it comes in contact with.
When used by a trained professional Calbrite will kill as much mold as a more chemically potent and harmful biocide. In addition, it retards the regrowth of mold due to its Ion based ingredients.
How Calbrite Works in Preventing Mold Regrowth
The Gold, Zinc and Titanium ions in Calbrite bond to surface materials, as the humidity increases and the environment becomes ideal for bacterial growth the ambient moisture in the air will cause a slow and steady release of the ions which effectively maintains an antimicrobial surface. Even under wet conditions the ions are released slowly and will provide long term protection.
